Recruitment of participants
We are contacting you in order to invite you to participate to a research on the professional distress of healthcare social workers. This study is led by professor Lilian Negura from the University of Ottawa’s School of Social Work and is named The professional distress of healthcare social workers in Quebec and Ontario: Professional representation and lived experience.

FOR ONTARIO: We are looking for social workers and managers working in a healthcare setting. Whether you work in a community service centre, a hospital, a clinic or a community health resource: your testimony matters! Your experience will enable us to identify solutions that could improve the problem of professional distress among social workers, both at the organizational and political levels.

FOR QUEBEC: We are looking for social workers working in community/non-profit health organization OR who have 5 years or less experience OR who are part of the following minorities: transgender or non-binary, African, Maghrebi, Asian or Aboriginal cultural minorities, person with a home language other than French or English. We are also looking for managers in the health care setting who supervise social workers and who may or may not have the title of social worker with no requirements as to location or experience. Please feel free to share this research with managers in your circle!

For those interested, you are cordially invited to a virtual meeting where your perspective on your practice context will be recorded by audio only. The exchange should last between one and two hours (at most) and will take place on the platform of your choice (Skype, Zoom, by phone, etc.) at a time convenient to you.
